The number of electric vehicles continues to increase day by day. After electric cars and airplanes, electric ships have now started to be released into the market. Incat Tasmania is preparing to launch its ship, which it describes as the largest in its class, to the seas soon.
The largest electric ship will hit the seas in 2025
The 130-meter-long electric ferry, built for the South American shipping company Buquebus, will serve between Argentina and Uruguay starting from 2025. The electric ship, called Incat Hull 096, will have a capacity of 2,100 passengers and 225 vehicles. There will also be a shopping center larger than 2 thousand square meters on the ship.

Parts of the electric ship built in Australia for use in South America come from all over the world. While the ship’s electric motors come from Finnish technology group Wärtsilä, 40 MWh capacity batteries will be provided by Norwegian Corvus Energy.
Details about Incat Hull 096, which will have 8 electric motors, have not been announced yet. Therefore, it is very difficult to say the power of the engines that will be used on the ship, the maximum speed and range of the ship.
On the other hand, with the widespread use of electric ships, carbon emissions are expected to decrease significantly. As it is known, many cruise and cargo ships emit more carbon emissions than cars. Large-scale ships can create more harmful gases in just one trip than thousands of vehicles release into the atmosphere in a year.
With the widespread use of electric vehicles, an important step will be taken against environmental pollution. It is planned to prevent the climate crisis thanks to clean energy production and electric vehicles. So what do you think about the increasing number of electric vehicles?
